VINTAGE MADNESS

Hello fashionistas
Well it might be too late for this but anyway here it goes: HAPPY NEW YEAR *throws confetti, blows whistle, pops champagne, does a little dance*.pulls self together and clears throat. Hope you had a great festive season, I sure did, and I was able to sneak in a bit of fashion frenzy moments in my sort of busy schedule. This lady over here was invited to the very first STYLE ALERT (SA) vintage shopping sale.
Christmas Eve was the day of the first sale…Thuli Mola, the core organiser had set for the experience to start at 10am, but as you might have figured out, fashionistas were gracing the undisclosed venue with their presence way before the required time. One lady had all the timeless pieces I had seen previously on the website that I wanted; this did not sit well with me. It goes to show that the earliest fashionistas do indeed catch the classiest and timeless pieces. I have learnt my lesson!
I was there from around 11.am and on entrance I was showered with colour: maxis, minis, scarfs, camisoles, shirts, tousers and belts. I was presented with what I believe is a taste of heaven on both regions of my body; I did not know where to start! I must have been sticking out like a sore thumb as before I could take my next glance of these timeless pieces, there was an assistant Nhlanhla who quickly came to my rescue me and even called the lady of the day, Miss Thuli Mola who assisted me in all the clothing commotion.
I soon found myself in the changing room with the rest of the ladies, taking this and that...swapping it for that, tucking  a shirt into this skirt…checking for approval from my new found fashion frenzy  friends hahahahahhahahah ,it was crazy in there. I did not want it to end so I extended my visit by taking pictures, capturing the beauty and authenticity of this experience, the organizers had done a great job for a first endeavor and my expectations of the event were met.
The first thing I did when I got home (naturally) was to fit the garments I had bought and parade for my granddad who later had a little, ‘Take a picture of me so that I can post this picture on twitter lesson’. My day was made, could not ask for more….I had a fashion filled day and had saved majorly on pieces that only I would boast.
Well done to you Miss Mola and thank you for the invite

The 24th of December 2011 proved to be a little more than rewarding I had new attire for Christmas!
Fashionistas it’s the year 2012, year of new things, a year of change, if you did not quite do well last year this is your time to shine, do not procrastinate any further the time is now!
